วันนี้ขอนำเสนอนิทานอีสปเรื่อง ราชสีห์กับหนู หรือชื่อภาษาอังกฤษคือ The Lion and the Mouse เป็นนิทานสองภาษา เป็นภาษาอังกฤษพร้อมทั้งคำแปลภาษาไทย อ่านแล้วรู้เรื่องและเข้าใจแน่นอนครับ
นิทานอีสป ราชสีห์กับหนู : The Lion and the Mouse
Once in a huge forest, there lived a lion.
ครั้งหนึ่ง นานมาแล้ว มีสิงโตตัวหนึ่งอาศัยอยู่ในป่าอันกว้างใหญ่
All the beasts and birds of the jungle were scared of the Lion.
บรรดาสัตว์น้อยใหญ่ นกทั้งหลายในป่า ต่างพากันกลัวสิงโต
No one even dared to go near the cave of the lion.
ไม่มีใคร กล้าแม้แต่จะเข้าไปใกล้ถ้ำของสิงโต
One day, a little mouse was playing hide and seek with his friends in the forest.
วันหนึ่ง หนูน้อยกำลังเล่นซ่อนหากับเพื่อนๆในป่า
“Hey there..”
หวัดดี
“You.. This time, you cannot catch me.”
เธอ.. ครา่วนี้เธอจับฉันไม่ได้หรอก
“You should not go beyond the tree, alright?”
เธอไม่ควรจะไปพ้นจากต้นไม้ เข้าใจไหม
“O.K.”
ตกลง
The friend mouse closed its eyes and all the mice ran in different directions.
เพื่อนของหนูหลับตา และหนูทุกตัวก็วิ่งกระจัดกระจายไปคนละทาง
Let me run away from the tree and come back when they start searching.
ฉันจะวิ่งไปให้พ้นจากต้นไม้ และกลับมาเมื่อพวกเขาเริ่มหา
He ran as fast as he could and reached the lion’s den.
เขาวิ่งเร็วที่สุดเท่าที่จะทำได้ และไปถึงโพรงของสิงโต
He did not notice the den and went stพaight t the place where the lion was sleeping.
เขาไม่ได้สังเกตว่าเป็นโพรง และตรงไปยังที่ซึ่งสิงโตกำลังหลับอยู่
He touched the paws of the Lion.
เขาไปโดนกรงเล็บของสิงโต
“What is this? So sharp.”
อะไรนี่ คมจัง
Suddenly.
ทันใดนั้น
“Oh my God. It’s a lion.”
โอพระ้เจ้า มันคือสิงโต
He screamed and the Lion woke up.
เขาตะโกนร้อง และสิงโตก็ตื่นขึ้นมา
The LM was trapped between the legs of the Lion.
หนูน้อยติดอยู่ในอุ้งเท้าของสิงโต
The Lion saw the mouse.
แล้วสิงโตมองก็เห็นหนู
“Hey, Little one, you are my evening snack today.”
หวัดดีหนูน้อย เจ้าจะเป็นอาหารว่างเมื้อเย็นของข้าวันนี้
“Good. I need not go out.”
ดีล่ะ ข้าไม่ต้องออกไปหาอาหาร
The mouse trembled with fear.
เจ้าหนูตัวสั่นด้วยความกลัว
“Dear King. Please leave me.”
ท่านเจ้าป่า กรุณาปล่อยฉันไปเถิด
“I will be of help to you some day or the other.”
ฉันจะเป็นประโยชน์กับท่านสักวันหนึ่งข้างหน้า
“Why do you laugh My Lord.”
ทำไมท่านจึงหัวเราะละท่าน
“You…You… Are you going to help me?”
เจ้า เจ้า เจ้ากำลังจะช่วยข้าเหรอ
“Please, King please leave me. I will certainly help you one day.”
ได้โปรดท่านเจ้าป่า กรุณาปล่อยฉันไปเถิด ฉันจะช่วยเหลือท่านแน่นอนสักวันหนึ่ง
The lion was in a mood to sleep.
สิงโตอยู่ในอารมณ์ที่อยากจะนอนมากกว่า
And so he did not bother the mouse much.
ดังนั้นเขาจึงไม่รังแกหนูมากไปกว่านี้
“I want to sleep now. You better get away from here.”
ตอนนี้ข้าต้องการนอน เจ้ารีบไปจากที่นี่เสียดีกว่า
“Thank you my Lord.”
ขอบคณมากท่าน
The mouse went as fast as he could to the forest.
เจ้าหนูรีบวิ่งออกไปสู่ป่าเร็วสุดชีวิต
A few days passed.
สองสามวันผ่านไป
One day, as usual the mouse was playing hide and seek with his friends.
วันหนึ่ง หนูน้อยก็เล่นซ่อนหากับเพื่อนๆตามปกติ
“Hi..Run..Run.”
เฮ้ วิ่ง วิ่ง
The little mouse ran and finally reached a tree.
หนูน้อยวิ่ง และในที่สุดก็ไปถึงต้นไม้
“Hi, let’s us hide here.. hii”
เฮ้ ซ่อนที่นี่กันเถอะ ฮิๆ
There he was surprised to see the Lion trapped in a net.
และที่นั่นเอง เขารู้สึกประหลาดใจที่เห็นสิงโตติดอยู่กับตาข่าย
He went running to the Lion.
เขารีบวิ่งไปหาสิงโต
There was no one nearby.
ไม่มีใครอยู่ใกล้ๆที่นั่นเลย
“Great King, what happened?”
ท่านเจ้าป่า เกิดอะไรขึ้น
“Who got you snared in this net?”
ใครทำให้ท่านติดกับอยู่ในตาข่ายนี้
The Lion was surprised to see the little mouse.
สิงโตรู้สึกประหลาดใจที่เห็นหนูน้อย
“Hi, Little one, look at me.”
หวัดดีหนูน้อย มองดูฉันสิ
“The hunters have caught me and have gone to bring their vehicle.”
นายพรานจับข้าและกลับไปเอายานพาหนะอยู่
“Great King, don’t worry.”
ท่านเจ้าป่า อย่ากังวลเลย
“I will cut this net and make you free.”
ฉันจะกัดตาข่ายและปล่อยให้ท่านอิสระ
“Can you?”
เจ้าทำได้หรือ
The mouse wasted no time.
หนูน้อยไม่ยอมเสียเวลา
He frantically gnawed away at the net and released the Lion.
เขากัดตาข่ายขาดกระจุย และปล่อยสิงโตออกมา
“Hurray… Hi, you have saved me. You are correct. Even small friends can be more useful, somewhere, someday. Thank you friend.”
ไชโย เฮ้ เจ้าช่วยชีวิตข้าไว้ เจ้าพูดถูก แม้จะเป็นเพื่อนตัวเล็กๆแต่ก็เป็นประโยชน์เหมือนกันไม่วันใดก็วันหนึ่ง ขอบคุณมากเพื่อน
The lion hugged the little mouse.
สิงโตกอดหนูน้อยไว้

Do not think anyone small. Do not judge people by their appearance.
